Performed by Registered Massage Therapists (RMT)
Massage therapy is a manual treatment technique for the soft tissues in the body, such as fascia, muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Your Registered Massage Therapist is trained to evaluate the body to determine the muscular dysfunctions, and then design a treatment program to restore normal muscle tone, improve blood and lymphatic circulation.
Improved circulation can reduce swelling and assist in faster healing. Massage therapy assists in the treatment of traumas or repetitive strain cases.
The goals of massage therapy vary from stretching shortened muscles, reducing "trigger points", decreasing muscle spasms, to increasing range of motion, and breaking down scar tissue.
